Baileys Banana Colada Recipe

  • Author: Matteo
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

Baileys Banana Colada is a creamy, tropical cocktail with a boozy twist, combining ripe banana, Baileys Irish Cream, coconut cream, white rum, pineapple juice, and vanilla. It’s a smooth and frothy drink that requires no blender, just a quick shake, perfect for a cozy night in, an after-dinner dessert drink, or a tropical escape in a glass.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 oz Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 oz coconut cream
  • 1 oz white rum
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: toasted coconut flakes and banana slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel and break the banana: Peel 1 ripe banana and break it into a few chunks so it’s easier to mix.
  2. Add all ingredients to shaker: Add the banana chunks, 2 oz Baileys Irish Cream, 1 oz white rum, 1 oz coconut cream, 1 oz pineapple juice, ½ tsp vanilla extract, and 1 cup ice cubes into a cocktail shaker or mason jar.
  3. Shake hard: Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is super cold and frothy.
  4. Strain and pour: Open the shaker and pour the mixture into two chilled round cocktail glasses. Use a fine strainer if you want it extra smooth.
  5. Garnish and serve: Top each glass with a banana slice and a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes.

Notes

  • Use a super ripe banana for maximum sweetness and smooth texture.
  • Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds to create a creamy, frothy top.
  • Use coconut cream, not coconut milk, for thicker and richer texture.
  • Chill cocktail glasses ahead of time for an extra frosty sip.
  • Garnish with banana slices and toasted coconut flakes for a fancy touch.
  • You can mix all ingredients except ice and banana ahead of time; store in fridge and shake before serving.
  • Store leftovers without ice in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours; shake well before serving.
  • Substitute Irish cream liqueur if Baileys is unavailable.
  • For a vegan version, use vegan Irish cream and swap coconut cream with coconut yogurt.
  • Frozen bananas can be used but should be slightly thawed to avoid excessive thickness.
