Cran Apple Brie Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

  • Author: Matteo
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 sandwiches 1x

Description

This Cran Apple Brie Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a delightful blend of sweet and savory flavors, combining creamy Brie cheese, tart cranberries, and crisp apple slices between buttery, toasted sourdough bread. Perfect for a quick and comforting dinner, it balances fruitiness with rich cheese for an irresistible grilled sandwich.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Butter

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • Pinch of sea salt

Fillings

  • 4 oz Brie cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce or whole cranberries
  • 1 medium apple, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preparing the Bread: Begin by spreading the softened butter evenly on one side of each sourdough slice. The buttered side will become the crispy exterior once grilled. Sprinkle a light pinch of sea salt over the buttered side to enhance flavor.
  2. Assembling the Sandwich: On the unbuttered sides of two bread slices, layer slices of Brie, cranberry sauce or whole cranberries, and thin apple slices evenly. Top each with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
  3. Grilling the Sandwich: Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes. Once hot, gently place one sandwich in the pan. Press down lightly with a spatula to ensure even contact. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
  4. Flipping and Finishing: Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook the other side for another 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and the Brie has melted inside. Repeat with the second sandwich.
  5. Serving: Remove sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute before slicing in half. Serve warm and enjoy the melty, fruity deliciousness.
