Description

Delicious and healthy Double Chocolate Protein Donuts that are low-calorie and high in protein, perfect for a guilt-free treat or post-workout snack. Made with nutrient-rich ingredients like canned pumpkin and egg whites, these baked donuts are coated with a creamy, protein-packed chocolate frosting.

Ingredients

Scale

Donuts

  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
  • 3/8 cup (92g) Liquid Egg Whites (or 2 whole egg whites)
  • 1/2 cup (120g) Canned Pumpkin
  • 2 Tbsp Swerve Confectioners (or other zero-calorie sweetener)
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 3 Tbsp (15g) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

Frosting/Glaze

  • 1 serving (32g) Fat-Free Cream Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) Sugar-Free Chocolate Syrup
  • 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a donut pan with low-calorie cooking spray to ensure the donuts don’t stick after baking.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine all the donut ingredients including flour, protein powder, egg whites, canned pumpkin, sweetener, applesauce, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Stir until the batter is smooth and well blended.
  3. Fill Donut Pan: Evenly distribute the batter into the 6 sections of your donut pan, filling each cavity to an appropriate level for full donuts.
  4. Bake Donuts: Place the donut pan in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the donuts become firm and spring back lightly when you touch them, indicating they are fully cooked.
  5. Prepare Frosting: While the donuts are baking, prepare the frosting by mixing together fat-free cream cheese at room temperature, sugar-free chocolate syrup, and chocolate protein powder until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  6. Cool Donuts: Once baked, allow the donuts to cool slightly before handling to prevent melting the frosting.
  7. Frost Donuts: Dip each donut face down into the prepared frosting, twisting gently to coat them evenly, then lift them out and let the frosting set for a few moments.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Serve your protein-packed double chocolate donuts fresh, perfect for a tasty and healthy snack.
