Description

This Frozen Irish Coffee recipe is a delightful and refreshing twist on the classic Irish coffee, perfect for warm days or as a luxurious dessert. Featuring coffee and sweetened cream frozen into ice cubes, blended with Irish whiskey and topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle, it offers a smooth, creamy, and indulgent beverage that balances robust coffee flavors with sweet and boozy notes.

Ingredients

Scale

Coffee Ice Cubes

  • 2 cups strong black coffee (470 g, cooled)

Cream Ice Cubes and Topping

  • 1 ½ cups sweetened cream (355 mL), divided
  • 1 bar chocolate (for melting and drizzling)

Alcohol

  • 3 oz Irish whiskey (90 mL), divided

Instructions

  1. Prepare Coffee Ice Cubes: Pour the strong black coffee into ice cube molds and freeze for 4 to 6 hours, or until completely solid.
  2. Prepare Cream Ice Cubes: Pour sweetened cream into separate ice cube molds and freeze alongside the coffee cubes until solid.
  3. Whip the Cream: Using the remaining sweetened cream (not frozen), whip it until soft peaks form, then set aside for topping the final drink.
  4. Blend Coffee and Whiskey: In a blender, combine 4 frozen coffee cubes with 1.5 oz of Irish whiskey. Blend until the mixture becomes foamy and smooth.
  5. Add Cream and Chocolate: Add 2 frozen sweetened cream cubes and 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate to the blender. Blend everything together until smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve: Pour the blended frozen Irish coffee into serving glasses. Top with the whipped cream prepared earlier and drizzle with additional melted chocolate.
  7. Enjoy: Sip on this indulgent frozen Irish coffee dessert, perfect for a cool, boozy treat.

Notes

  • Ensure the coffee is cooled before freezing to avoid ice cubes sticking together.
  • You can adjust the amount of whiskey according to taste.
  • Sweetened cream can be substituted with heavy cream plus sugar if preferred.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor in the drizzle.
  • Serve immediately after blending for the best texture.
