Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Hot Italian Sub Sliders featuring layers of ham, salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese on soft Hawaiian rolls, topped with flavorful butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic, then baked to golden perfection. Perfect for parties, game day, or a hearty snack.
Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 12 pack rolls, halved lengthwise (I recommend Kings Hawaiian rolls)
Meats and Cheese
- 6 oz package of ham, thinly sliced
- 5 oz package of salami, thinly sliced
- 5 oz package of pepperoni, thinly sliced
- 9 slices provolone cheese
Peppers
- 1/3 cup pepperoncini, sliced
- 1/3 cup pickled hot cherry peppers, sliced
Butter Mixture
- 1/4 cup salted butter, melted
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed (fresh recommended)
Serving
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) to ensure it is perfectly heated for baking the sliders evenly.
- Assemble Sliders: Lay the bottom halves of the rolls on a baking sheet or pan. Layer the ham evenly over the rolls, followed by the salami, then the pepperoni. Add a layer of provolone cheese on top of the meats, then spread the sliced hot cherry peppers and pepperoncini over the cheese. Place the top halves of the rolls back onto the layered sliders.
- Prepare Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the melted salted butter with Italian seasoning and the crushed fresh garlic cloves. Stir thoroughly to combine all the flavors well.
- Brush Sliders: Generously brush the seasoned butter mixture over the tops of the assembled sliders, making sure to coat every nook and cranny for maximum flavor and golden browning.
- Bake Sliders: Cover the sliders with aluminum foil to keep them moist and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted beautifully.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and slice carefully between the rolls. Serve warm with your favorite marinara sauce on the side for dipping, enhancing the delicious Italian flavors.
Notes
- Use fresh garlic for a more intense, aromatic flavor compared to jarred garlic.
- Choose soft rolls like Kings Hawaiian for the ideal sweet and soft texture complementing the savory fillings.
- The marinara dipping sauce adds a tangy contrast and is optional but recommended.
- You can adjust the amount of hot cherry peppers and pepperoncini to control the heat level to your preference.
- Covering with foil during baking keeps the sliders moist and prevents the tops from burning.
