Description
Maple Bacon Ice Cream is a delightful dessert featuring creamy maple-flavored ice cream topped with crispy bacon bits, offering a perfect sweet and salty combination that will tantalize your taste buds.
Ingredients
Scale
Bacon Bits
- 6–8 bacon slices, partially frozen
Ice Cream
- Maple ice cream, as desired
- Maple syrup, for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Bacon Slices: Partially freeze the bacon slices for 10-15 minutes until they are very cold and firmer but not icy, to make slicing easier.
- Slice Bacon: Stack the partially frozen bacon slices thinly and slice them lengthwise thinly. Then cut horizontally into small chunks, aiming for thin and tiny pieces.
- Cook Bacon Bits: Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add the bacon pieces in a single layer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the bacon is golden brown and crispy.
- Drain Excess Oil: Using a strainer, drain the excess grease from the cooked bacon bits.
- Cool Bacon Bits: Allow the bacon bits to cool completely before using them as topping.
- Assemble Dessert: Scoop maple ice cream into serving glasses or bowls. Top with the cooled crispy bacon bits and drizzle maple syrup over the top if desired.
Notes
- Make sure to partially freeze bacon for easier slicing.
- Drain bacon oil thoroughly to avoid greasy ice cream.
- Allow bacon bits to cool completely to maintain crispiness when served.
- For best flavor, use pure maple syrup for drizzling.
