  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Orange Creamsicle Jello Shots deliver the nostalgic taste of a classic creamsicle with a boozy twist, combining orange sherbet, Rum Chata, and gelatin to create a fun and creamy adult party treat that’s easy to make and sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Shot Mixture

  • 2 scoops orange sherbet (melted)
  • 1 package unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup Rum Chata
  • 1 cup water

For Serving

  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • 1618 plastic shot glasses

Instructions

  1. Melt the orange sherbet: Place 2 scoops of orange sherbet in a bowl and allow it to melt at room temperature until soft and pourable.
  2. Dissolve gelatin: In a medium saucepan, add 1 cup of water and sprinkle the package of unflavored gelatin over it. Let it stand for 2 minutes to bloom the gelatin, then bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Combine sherbet and Rum Chata: Once the orange sherbet is melted, stir in 1 cup of Rum Chata until fully incorporated, creating a creamy mixture.
  4. Add gelatin mixture: Pour the cooled gelatin liquid into the sherbet and Rum Chata mixture and stir thoroughly to blend everything evenly.
  5. Fill shot cups and chill: Pour the combined mixture into 16-18 plastic shot glasses. Place the filled cups in the freezer for 2 hours to set.
  6. Refrigerate before serving: After freezing, transfer the jello shots to the refrigerator for 1 hour to soften slightly for the perfect creamy texture.
  7. Serve topped with whipped cream: Before enjoying, top each jello shot with a small amount of whipped cream for an extra creamy finish and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Make sure the gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid any grainy texture in the shots.
  • For a stronger kick, adjust the amount of Rum Chata to taste.
  • Melt sherbet slowly at room temperature to avoid separating the creamy texture.
  • Plastic shot glasses are recommended for easy serving and removal of the shots once set.
  • Keep jello shots refrigerated if not served immediately to maintain texture and freshness.
