Scale
Fruits
- 2 cups fresh pineapple, chopped
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
Liquids and Sweeteners
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional)
Garnish and Serving
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a blender, combine the chopped pineapple, halved strawberries, and 2 cups of cold water. Blend until smooth and well combined.
- Strain the Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove the pulp. Use a spatula to press down and extract as much liquid as possible. Then add the remaining 2 cups of cold water to the pitcher.
- Sweeten and Flavor: Stir in the sugar, adjusting the amount to your taste. If desired, add the lime juice for a hint of acidity. Continue stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Serve: Refrigerate the agua fresca for at least 30 minutes to chill or serve immediately over ice. Pour into glasses over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves or a slice of lime if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your preference.
- The lime juice is optional but adds a nice tangy balance to the sweetness.
- For a smoother texture, strain the mixture thoroughly to remove all pulp.
- Serve chilled for the most refreshing experience.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
