Ingredients
Scale
Ladyfingers and Soaking Liquid
- 14 ounces ladyfingers
- ½ cup orange juice
- ¾ cup orange liqueur (divided into ½ cup and ¼ cup; Cointreau preferred, Triple Sec works too)
Mascarpone Cream
- 16 ounces mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- 16 ounces heavy whipping cream (chilled)
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar (sifted)
Fruit Layers
- 13 ounces strawberry preserve
- 32 ounces strawberries (hulled and sliced)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the room temperature mascarpone cheese with sifted powdered sugar. Mix thoroughly until smooth and fully combined.
- Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the chilled heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.
- Fold Cream into Mascarpone: Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until it is evenly incorporated and smooth, creating a light, creamy filling.
- Prepare Soaking Liquid: In a small bowl, mix the orange juice with ½ cup of the orange liqueur, stirring well to combine.
- Soak Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the orange juice and liqueur soaking liquid. Ensure they are moistened but not soggy to maintain structure.
- Arrange First Layer: Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of your serving dish evenly.
- Spread Cream Layer: Evenly spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers, smoothing gently with a spatula.
- Add Strawberry Preserve: Spread half of the strawberry preserve on top of the mascarpone cream layer, distributing evenly.
- Add Fresh Strawberries: Arrange half of the sliced strawberries neatly over the preserve layer.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the process by adding another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream, strawberry preserve, and sliced strawberries.
- Finish with Orange Liqueur: Drizzle the remaining ¼ cup of orange liqueur over the top of the assembled tiramisu for added flavor.
- Chill: Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld and the ladyfingers to soften perfectly.
Notes
- Ensure ladyfingers are dipped quickly to prevent them from becoming too soggy, which can make the dessert mushy.
- Use high-quality mascarpone for the best creamy texture and flavor.
- For added flair, garnish with a few whole fresh strawberries or a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
- This dessert is best served chilled and consumed within 2 days for optimal freshness.
- Orange liqueur can be substituted with another citrus liqueur if desired.
