Valentine’s Day Oreo Truffles Recipe

  • Author: Matteo
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: About 30 truffles 1x

Description

These Valentine’s Day Oreo Truffles are a decadent and easy-to-make treat combining crushed Oreo cookies with cream cheese and a smooth white chocolate coating, finished with festive red and pink sprinkles, perfect for sharing on a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 1 package Oreo cookies (15.35 ounces)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional, for smoother coating)
  • Red and pink sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Mixture: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing with a rolling pin. In a bowl, mix the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese and vanilla extract until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Shape the Truffles: Scoop small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate the truffle balls for about 30 minutes until firm and ready for coating.
  4. Melt the Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth. Stir in vegetable oil if you desire a thinner, smoother coating.
  5. Coat the Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted white chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Place them back on the parchment-lined sheet and immediately decorate with red and pink sprinkles.
  6. Set and Serve: Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature or refrigerate briefly until hardened. Serve and enjoy your festive Oreo truffles.

Notes

  • For finer crumbs, use a food processor to crush Oreos.
  • Vegetable oil in melted chocolate helps achieve a thinner coating, but it is optional.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Allow truffles to come to room temperature briefly before serving for the best texture and flavor.
  • You can experiment with different sprinkles or dipping chocolates to customize the look and taste.
